Do you know who your stakeholders are?

Stakeholders or ‘publics’ are key to a successful PR campaign. It stands to reason that you need to know who to communicate with, what they might want to know, and how you can engage with them, BEFORE you start crafting your message.

All companies have many stakeholders, and each type almost certainly will need a different message, and quite possibly a different approach.

Types of stakeholders include

  • employees
  • customers
  • potential customers
  • competitors
  • suppliers
  • banks/shareholders
  • ‘neighbours’
  • media

One of the great ways we use to map stakeholders is: a power/interest graph. This provides some fantastic insights and is a very effective way to cut through the ‘scattergun’ approach to PR.  If you’d like to know more about this, just drop me an email.
