Five favourite apps for iPad

My ‘oversized phone’ has become an indispensable business tool. From my iPad I type notes, run presentations, record meetings, plan my diary, tweet and blog – all without resorting to squinting at a palm sized screen.

Here are five of the apps I’ve found most useful for business:

FLIPBOARD – indispensable way to view your social media channels. It shows your Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin platforms in ‘magazine’ form, with dynamic turning pages. Try it, you’ll be hooked.

POPPLET – mind maps your thing? Then try this app which easily creates linking boxes to populate. Great for making an easy to read, logical flow of ideas. I also use iBlueSky too from time to time.

PAGES – the great thing about this is that you can email it in either pdf, pages or word format. Who needs anything else?!

SKYPE – a brilliant way to phone home, for free, for anywhere you have a wi-fi connection.

PREZI VIEWER – I’m a huge fan of Prezi as an alternative to Powerpoint for presentations. This viewer lets you use Prezi offline for all those impromptu presentations.
